Testimonials for J Bar Angus

George & Barbara Williams (1-22-11)

Email from Steve Zapalac-Smithville, Texas

Mark and Karen,
Thank you for the 3 yearling bulls I purchased approximately 18 months ago.  We put these bulls on about 100 heifers.  The heifers all have calved out and we did not have to pull one calf.  All calves were born healthy and took to their mothers immediately.
You said these bulls were low birthing bulls and they were.  Thank you for being an honest breeder.
Steve Zapalac~Smithville, Texas   (2-24-11)

Mark Weischwill (1-4-11)
"We purchased our first bulls from J Bar Angus in 2004.  Since that time we have replaced all our breeding stock with registered Black Angus bulls from Mark and Karen Janak.  The breeding proficiency and quality of the calves produced has been very satisfactory.  Currently we have 7 J Bar Angus bulls in service on our commercial cattle heard.  When it comes time to replace a bull, we will buy from Mark and Karen.  They are just good people to deal with and they raise an exceptional quality of animals. "  ~Mark Weischwill-Yorktown, Texas

Robert & Wanda Lubojacky (5-18-10)

"Thank you Mark and Karen for the bull we purchased today.  Your knowledge and history of your bulls helps us make the right choice for our needs.  We've been buying our Angus bulls from J Bar for the past 10 years and we are certainly 100% satisfied." ~Wanda & Robert Lubojacky-Richmond, Texas

The Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine's Student Chapter of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners sent a group of 21 veterinary students ranging from first year through third year, down to the Victoria area on March 12-14, 2010 Jared Hanselman , originally of Tivoli , TX, as well as Dr. Glennon Mays worked to provide veterinary students an opportunity to see many different aspects of how bulls are utilized in the cattle industry.  Various presentations were made in Port Lavaca, Tivoli , Hallettsville, and Schulenburg on topics ranging from the rodeo industry, smaller ranching operations, larger ranching operations, and private bull sales.  J Bar Angus in Hallettsville , Texas  was one such stop.  Mr. Mark Janak and Mrs. Karen Janak, owners of J Bar Angus, spoke to the veterinary students on the importance of EPDs (expected progeny differences), both within their herd and as it applies to the cattle industry.  Also, Mr. Janak presented on the importance of nutrition in the seed-stock bull business.  Mrs. Janak explained the dynamics of bull sales and the general expenses to be considered.  The A&M students were extremely impressed by the presentation and overall Southern hospitality that the Janak's provided.  However, they weren't expecting that on the first weekend of their Spring Break, they would encounter a test on bull selection for your client.  Apparently the students learned well from Mr. Janak's presentation, because all of them passed with flying colors.  As an organizer/participant in this trip, I must say that the Janak family has an outstanding operation.  They obviously have the bull industry well figured, and by the looks of the bulls on premises, they strive to provide a higher standard of Angus bulls for the commercial cattlemen.  If anyone gets a chance, they should try to visit and let their bulls tell the story.
